Book Review Rating Guide

Thank you for choosing Lemon Drop Literary to review your book.

As a children’s author and early childhood educator, I exclusively review children’s picture books because I use my teacher hat to analyze the story and how it could be applied in the classroom.

To view the criteria, I use to arrive at my rating, please read 4 Elements Good Picture Books Need.

I use half-ratings for books that are in between two levels.

I will not post a review for a book with a rating below 3 Lemon Drops.

5 Lemon Drops:

I must have two copies!

One is front and center in my classroom library and the other is on my large group easel!

The book will feature prominently in my lesson plans (1-3 separate read alouds) with various learning activities that coincide with it.

4 Lemon Drops:

I need at least one copy!

The book will be important in my lesson plans (1-2 read alouds) with at least one learning activity to coincide with it.

3 Lemon Drops:

One copy is sufficient!

The book will supplement my lesson plans (1 read aloud) with one activity to coincide with it.
