An uplifting story that will have you reaching for the moon!
I
received a complimentary copy of this book from Reedsy Discovery. I voluntarily
chose to read and post an honest review.
Review:
Book Summary:
Lauren, a Jersey Calf, is determined to become a jumping cow. "My dear, cows don't jump," her mother says. Lauren ignores her mother's advice and trains hard in the farmyard every day.
She learns to jump over objects of different sizes
with the aid of her friend Tim. Jumping is not the only strength Lauren
possesses, as she discovers.
Opinion:
The
story of Lauren the Cow is a delightful and inspiring narrative that encourages
kids to persist, even in the face of failure. Lauren's success demonstrates the
power of practice and encouragement.
Andreu's illustrations are attractive, colorful, and captivating. Young readers will be delighted for sure.
Classroom Connection:
Lauren
the Cow is a perfect example for a lesson on self-esteem and persistence. After
reading the book, children could write down a goal and strategies to accomplish
it in their journal.
This
book would be a great addition to a Unit on Farming.

About The Author:
Children’s
book author T.I. Frazier considers himself more of a communicator than a
writer.
His
goal, whether through his books or speaking engagements, is to change the way
people—especially youth—think in order to leave a larger positive footprint on
the world.
His
newest project, an illustrated picture book titled Lauren the Cow, is
about a young calf who surpasses her dreams through self-belief and
perseverance.
T.I.
believes a great story is one that inspires and continues to foster personal
growth long after the book is closed.
He
hopes his young readers come away from his book with a better understanding of
determination, believing in oneself, and tenacity in reaching a goal.
The
idea for Lauren the Cow was inspired by his wife, Lauren, for whom he
created short stories of encouragement during a time of deep emotion and loss.
